Are you looking to form a new band or worship music project? This might just be the time to put planning into practise and get out there and find yourself some like-minded individuals to form a new musical adventure.
Always choose people who you get along with! This may seem like an obvious thing to say but if your new band is going to be any sort of success then you are going to have to spend a lot of time with these people. Try to gauge whether or not you like the same books, tv shows and movies. Talk about music that you like, not just the material that you want to play but just whatever you are in to.
Make sure your musical ideas match. There is nothing worse than a heavy metal fan playing bass in a folk band, which he clearly hates, just because he has always been in bands and that is his hobby. It’s worth taking a long time to find the right people to partner up with. A good band is going to take a couple of years to really get going so taking a year or so to recruit the right musicians is not a long time relatively.
Ensure that your ambitions match. People play in bands for a variety of different reasons, for some its just a pass-time, but for others it is a very serious endeavour. Try to make sure that your ambitions are aligned and you know what everyone wants to get out of the project.
Get some gigs! Speak to your church as a first port of call as they are always willing to promote local live music. Another option is to put on a concert on your own, just hire a venue and do some promotion. A new band with four members has a lot of friends and family members to get down to fill up the audience! Have a look at How to Get Gigs for some more tip on getting more gigs. A concert by even a half finished band might just be the calling card needed to find that extra member you are looking for.
Post on noticeboards. It really is the old fashioned way but it’s definitely effective. So many musicians read those boards in rehearsal studios and concert venues, you are guaranteed to reach someone who knows someone who fits your requirements.
Have a look at this Musician Wanted site which features loads of great musicians looking to connect and form new bands. UVPUBDWF436V

Gospel musicians the world have asked themselves many a time to consider whether or not to participate in non-worship-based activities. Time is precious for everyone so we should almost certainly confine our time to Christian pursuits. If, for example, you have five hours free from work every day then shouldn’t you spend that time half relaxing/resting/eating and half on worship activities? What is to say that an amount of time spent with a gospel group is better than the same amount of time sitting around procrastinating at home. That is the strong question I suppose but anyway, back to the main subject of Christian Music in the UK. We definitely think that more need to be done to promote sacred music in our fair country at the moment. Historically, this country has led the way in worship songs so we should certainly be doing more productive endeavours now.
Thanks for spending the time from your day to read our Christian music blog. We can confirm categorically that there will be more interesting (not that these aren’t interesting) posts on here really soon, so do check back periodically.

Have a look at this Christian Musician for more information. With the help of some local churches and friends any new project should be really easy to get off the ground in our opinion.

There are some great new sites for musicians and people looking to book musicians and bands for events. Compare Music is the first which allows its users to compare various music sites from across the web. Compare Musicians is all about customers finding the best deal when booking a live musician for any sort of UK event. These sites both allow musicians and music site owners to get a listing which will display the band or business to its customers.
The are various other comparison sites out their which do a similar thing but we feel that these two are definitely worth some of your valuable time. Don`t forget to check the Christian Music Forum regularly as well for the most up to date happenings from the gospel and sacred music world.

Finding the right band for a Christian wedding ceremony or reception is not an easy task.We would always recommend using an agency when hiring live musicians. It may seem cheaper to deal with the band directly but you will not have the peace of mind that the contracts and insurance that agency provides. We would recommend this agency for wedding bands - Wedding Bands. There is an alternative however, have a look at this site Compare Wedding Bands. They feature a select few bands from different London-based entertainment agencies.
In entirely unrelated news, the forum is growing steadily, we have had a few nice comments of support from some other people who say they will be checking it regularly and reading all posts so there is reason for optimism. If you have anything related to say, then please head over and post your thoughts.
